What Teachers Really Do (Part Three)
"...Okay, students, go to your fifth-period classes and your teachers should be there." Miss Anderson said, but she wasn't right. I grabbed my things and headed to industrial tech with Claire and Olivia. When we got there Mr. Bond was nowhere to be seen. We called his name a couple of times and looked around the room too. Then we checked all around the school but he was still nowhere to be seen. Then we realized we had one room left to check, the teachers' lounge..."
We were kind of scared to open the door, I mean we had no idea what could be right behind it. I put my hand on the doorknob and twisted it to open. Then, we heard a loud "beep." We carefully stepped in the door and we found out what is in the teachers' lounge. Everyone was so shocked. There wasn't a food buffet, or a dance party, nothing like that. It was just a plain old room with some tables and Mr. Bond was at one of them. He was just eating his lunch. When we got in there he said "Well, look at the time, I'm late for my sixth-grade exploratory class! He got up to put his lunch away and walked back to class with us. He seemed a little strange for the rest of the period. We were working on our bottle rocket when he said "Class, I must have forgotten something in the teacher's lounge and I need to go get it. I should be back by the end of the period." So, he left and we continued working on our rockets, but we were wondering what e could be doing.
At lunch, we were talking and someone brought up the beep whenever we opened the door to the teacher's lounge. What was it?
"Sixth graders it's a beautiful day so after your done with your lunch your can head outside!" Mr. Burchfeild yelled.
"This is our chance!" said Olivia.
"To go outside?" I asked.
"No, to go back to the teacher's lounge and see what's in there. We have a good ten minutes!"
"Let's go!" We all said. We acted like we were going to go to the bathroom, but we quickly ran to the teacher's lounge. When we got there we quickly opened the door and again, we heard the loud obnoxious "beep." When we got in there still it was a plain old room.
"Okay, I know this will sound completely crazy, but what if the doorknob can detect student fingerprints or DNA?" Olivia suggested.
"I mean, that makes a little sense but at the same time you seem like a crazy person," I said.
"How would we be able to figure it out?" Asked Claire.
"Well," Olivia said suspiciously, "If I'm thinking right the school turns off the electricity on Easter break because no one will be in the school, so we could come in then."
"Don't they lock the school though?" Claire and I asked.
"Yes, but if we open a window and leave it open we should be able to go in no problem."
"We just have to hope it doesn't get closed," I said.
"Oh, I didn't think of that!"
"What if we hide in the girls' locker room." I suggested "We could go in there right after school and we can probably fit in one of the bigger lockers that the locks are broken on."
"That would work!" They both said at the same time.
When Easter break came around we all told our parents we were going to each other's houses after school. We ran right to the locker room when there was a bunch of commotion so nobody would notice. We each hid in a different locker, as planned. It was a very tight space and we had to be in there for a while. When we thought the coast was clear we all got out and stretched from being in the tiny space. We carefully looked out the door to check if the coast was clear, and luckily it was. We quickly ran over to the teacher lounge an dopened the door, but still we heard the beep and it was a regular room!
"What if we wear a glove," suggested Claire. "It would have to be either a new one or one of the teachers." So we ran into the office and found Mr. Burchfeilds glove laying on his desk. Olivia picked up the glove and then we realized her fingerprints are on it now! How would we get a glove without getting our finger prints on it?
"Well, There is still one part that doesn't have anyones fingerprints on it," I said. "The inside..."
There will be a part four and it will be the final part of the story.
